FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q) How does Swapzle work?
Users sign up for monthly subscriptions. A subscription gives the user unlimited access to all of our projects. The idea is that you can request and complete one on your own timeline - no pressure to finish within a specific time frame - send it back, and then get a new one!
Q) What kind of projects are available with Swapzle?
A) Our main feature is jigsaw puzzles, but our collection also includes 3D puzzles and some Lego sets. Over time we hope to add more types of projects!
Q) Where is Swapzle available?
A) Swapzle is currently operating out of Manhattan. For the time being, we are only available to subscribers in the NYC Metro area. If you are not sure if you are in proximity, please contact us!
Q) I made an account but didn’t pay. How does that work?
A) Unfortunately, it is a limitation of the site’s back-end that we cannot limit account creation to those who pay for subscription. In order to borrow projects you will need to pay for a monthly subscription.
Q) Help! I tried to check out but the platform said my zip code was not available even though I’m in range.
A) Contact us and we’ll fix it! We had to add zip codes one at a time and easily could have missed some.
Q) How can I be sure that my puzzle has all of its pieces?
A) Swapzle has completed and sealed every puzzle before posting it to the collection. If we know pieces are missing, we will make a note in the item description. With the large sizes of some of our puzzles, we hope that a couple missing pieces won’t be a deterrent, but if you are unhappy with the quality of your borrowed items for any reason please contact us and we will look for a good solution.
We do rely on member reports to help keep the quality reports up to date, so please keep us posted if pieces are missing. If too many are missing from any puzzle, we will retire it and donate it to charity.
Q) I lost a piece! What do I do?
A) It happens! Just let us know when you return it so we can update the item notes.
Q) What should I do to return my projects?
A) For puzzles, please disassemble and tape the box up before returning, and let us know if pieces are missing. For Legos, disassemble as best you can to fit in the box and then tape the box before returning.
Q) Is there a time limit to complete and return my projects?
A) Nope! Take as long as you need.
Q) Can I borrow more than one item at a time?
A) Swapzle is designed to lend out one item at a time per subscriber, but if there is a specific reason why you’d like multiple items at once let us know and we will see how we can accommodate you.
Q) Can I donate or sell my old puzzles or other projects to Swapzle?
A) Yes! We are accepting new items for our collection (provided they are in good shape) in exchange for membership credits.
Current exchanges are:
2 x 1000 or 1500 piece jigsaw puzzles = 1 month
1 x 2000+ piece jigsaw puzzles = 1 month
Other = contact us to discuss
Q) Swapzle doesn’t have a phone number. How can I be sure my questions will be answered?
A) Swapzle is currently operating as a one-woman shop and is not set up to have a business phone (yet!), but I promise I read and respond to every email in the hello@swapzle.com inbox. What we lack in manpower we make up for in personal touch and stellar customer service.
Q) Can I give Swapzle as a gift?
A) Yes! This is a capability we are working on. If you are interested in purchasing an account for someone else as a gift, contact us and we will work with you to make it happen.
